Saggubiyyam vadiyalu or Sabudhana fryums are made from sabudana which are tapioca pearls. These papads are also called as sago papads. some more names for this dish in a few regional languages are javvarisi vadam (Tamil), sabakki sandige (Kannada) and saggubiyyam vadiyalu (Telugu). They are thin, round, and flat snacks made from cereals, lentils, or potatoes. Typically deep-fried, they are served alongside Indian meals like Sambar rice, Dal rice, Rasam, etc to add a crunchy, flavorful element.
Ingredients used :
- Tapioca (Sabudana): The main starch used to make the vadiyalu.
- Salt: For seasoning
- Cumin seeds: Ground into a powder to add flavor
- Ginger : For taste
- Green Chili : Ground into a paste to add spiciness.
